Candice is a first-generation Ghanaian American. Candice graduated from the University of California Riverside with a B.A in dance and trained at the world-famous Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in New York City. Candice has also been a member of several professional dance companies such as Show Off Dance Company, Synapse Dance Theater and Global Motion Dance Company in Santa Monica, CA.

She was inspired to create DARE Generation because she has a strong desire to be an innovator within her community. She felt it was important to have the arts easily available to everyone in underserved areas.

Benjamin Bannerman is a Lecturer at the University for Development Studies. He earned a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Ghana with a focus in choreography and performance. He received his B.F.A in dance and theater from UG Legon and trained in Ghanaian Neo-Traditional dance, Afrobeats, and Ghanaian traditional music. Benjamin specializes in playing the piano and acro-dancing, which he began in his early childhood, and also received training in ballet from Pippa’s Health Center. He has staged multiple original choreographic works, collaborated with the National Dance Company of Ghana in staging African contemporary pieces, and performed with the Ghana Dance Ensemble on several occasions.

With his experience in music, dance, and acting, Benjamin’s goal is to create unique artistic works that include Ghanaian elements of musical percussions and dance to the world. He seeks to break the status quo in a creative way to address various subject matters.

Veronica graduated with a B.A in psychology from the University of California Riverside in 2014 and completed her post-baccalaureate at California State University, San Marcos in 2017. She is on her way to becoming a medical professional and aspires to help others achieve the best possible care. In addition to her involvement in health and wellness, she has a background in the performing arts as a trained hip-hop dancer and musician. Veronica was a member of Synapse dance theater in Santa Monica, CA. She enjoys helping others reach their fullest potential and is excited to use her expertise to give back to the community.
